3 Days of trains big and small

Over the weekend of the early May Bank Holiday, Leeming Bar will be hosting its festival of model railways. Including

• A range of layouts from n gauge to G scale
• Standard gauge locos will be displayed alongside the models, including newly repainted ex Tyne and Wear loco WL 4 and a part rebuilt steam locomotive
• 5 1/4″ gauge steam railway with 145ft track set up in the car park
• A traction engine in steam will be displayed in the car park
• Trains running through the day between Scruton and Leyburn. All day rovers will be available
• Birds of prey at Scruton Station
• Newly restored station houses at Scruton and Leeming Bar, with out volunteers in character depicting life in the 1900’s
• Refreshments at all stations
• Children’s activities
• Grand official opening of the Leeming bar Station house on 2nd May 2022

Tickets are available just for the exhibition, the exhibition and train shuttle to Scruton or the exhibition and travel on all trains.

Travel to Northallerton mainline station by train and get the bus from to Leeming Bar. It’s just a short walk to get on the bus, a 15 minute ride and then get off at Leeming Bar, with the bus stopping yards from Leeming Bar station.

There is a regular No. 73 bus service from Northallerton on the Saturday    Bus 73 Timetable

Trains Saturday

The shuttles between Leeming bar and Scruton will use Pacer 142078, the Leeming to Leyburn services will use 37250 & 33035 top and tailed.
