On Saturday 13th June, join us at the Wensleydale Railway for a scenic guided countryside walk around Leyburn, an historic market town at the heart of Wensleydale. Blending the outdoors with local heritage and a trip on the train, this circular walk is a lovely way to explore the landscape surrounding one of the line’s best loved stations.
The walk is approximately 4.5 miles, crossing open fields with a short stretch of road walking. There is an incline towards the end of the route, so please wear suitable clothing and footwear. Please also bring a packed lunch and a drink. There will be an opportunity to stop at a local pub for a drink during the walk. Dogs are welcome on leads!
Passengers are encouraged to catch the 9:20am train from Leeming Bar and meet at Leyburn Station ready for a 10:20am departure. You can also meet us directly at Leyburn Station from which the walk will both start and end.
Tickets for the walk are £5, with children free. Tickets can be bought online in advance, or paid for on the day.
If the weather is poor, please ring Leeming Bar on 01677 425805 before travelling to check whether the walk is going ahead.
