Will Burnham

Community Engagement Officer

Hello Everyone,

My name is Will Burnham and I’m happy to say I’m Wensleydale Railways new Community Engagement Officer. I’m a Huddersfield lad who studied archaeology and I’ve worked in heritage education my entire career. I’ve worked in museums, castles and even a nuclear bunker, sharing my passion for history and talking to people our shared past. I love how living history can transport us to the past and make it come alive and I can’t think of a better place to make this happen than at Wensleydale Railway. I’m going to be working the amazing volunteers at WRAT to create activities and events for school groups and visitors of all kinds to help everyone better enjoy and understand our railway heritage.

In my spare time I enjoy going to folk festivals, singing to the best of my abilities and fettling in my shed with a bit of timber. I’m currently studying cabinetry at the local college making furniture.
