Help us keep our Pacers Dry
Tarps for a PacerHelp a poorly Donkey!
As you’ve all seen the WR is now home to two retired northern class 142 pacers. They are running this coming Sunday but after that will be put of use for restoration and waiting for a crew training course.
The immediate issue is leaking windows and roof pods are making seats and floors mouldy and will eventually cause damage to electrics. Whilst waiting for shed space these vehicles need to be kept dry to try to reduce overhaul costs.
Pacers are.more complex than the older DMU vehicles so prevention of damage is vital.
We can buy tarpaulins and fixing ropes for all 4 vehicles for £650. This time of year operating funds wont stretch that far. Can you spare a few quid to help these drowning donkeys?
Any surplus funds will be put towards the new window seals we will eventually have to buy.
These images show the water ingress and its impact on the seats.
