Part of Scruton station’s platform is made from wood and the surface became slippy at times. Our Direct Works team fitted just short of one-mile of anti-slip material to the platform surface and used 6,578 screws to secure them in place! The work was completed several days before our model railway weekend event and allowed us to successfully re-open Scruton to the public and run shuttles from Leeming Bar. Well done to everyone involved in this work!
Our Direct Works team are volunteers dedicated to maintaining our buildings, platforms, bridges, line side fencing and drains along 22 miles of line.
