Our Crakehall Station level crossing gates have been shortlisted for a National Railway Heritage Award! The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held in London on Wednesday 6th December 2023.
The crossing gates are wooden and based on the North Eastern Railway Southern Division design. They were generously donated to the railway by Bob Coombs. Amongst the numerous ways that Bob supports our railway, he is Station Master at Leeming Bar. Many of you will have enjoyed his informative tours round our 1920s restored station building!
