Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, known by most as Queen Elizabeth II, is the longest reigning monarch in British history, as well as the longest serving female head of state that can be verified.

Until 2022, for the vast majority of the country, Elizabeth was the only monarch they had lived under. While many monarchs are defined by a small number of events, or maybe a particular decade, the 70-year reign of Elizabeth transcended eras, from the world of post-wart rationing in which she ascended, to the present day in which we live.

She is a Queen that we are all very familiar with, but there may still be more to learn about the reign of Elizabeth II.
