The Wensleydale Railway operates heritage diesel train services between Scruton and Leyburn and offers a great day out for all the family. Enjoy spectacular scenery, visit restored historic stations and learn more about the 1900s way of life whilst enjoying free guided tours with our costumed living history interpreters
Happy New Year from everyone at Wensleydale Railway! We hope that you’ve had a great Christmas and New Year holiday.
The railway is now closed until the February half-term holiday. Stay tuned in 2024 as we will be expanding the number of Events services that we offer, including extra Wensleydale Fryer fish and chips trains and Afternoon Tea services.
The Model Railway Weekend will be back along with some additional events that are currently in the planning stage. Watch this space!
Timetables and tickets will become available in mid to late January.
Please note that although no passenger trains will be running, we will be carrying out some major infrastructure work. This means that the railway line will still be in active use by engineering trains. There is never a good time to use the line as a footpath so please don’t be tempted to take shortcuts. Stick to marked public footpaths and crossings and do not trespass on the line.
